So we made it to our 4 month doctors appointment with no RSV, broken bones, or cuts and bruises! I don't know why I always get myself so worked up. When I made the appointment at 9:15am I told myself I would be okay without
Trav, but 2 days before I changed my mind. And being the best husband he is, he scrambled to get the morning off, and stayed late every night before to make up the hours. I just can't be the one to hold my little guy down while some lady hurts him. It's a good hurt because I believe in immunizing your kids, but hurt still the same. As you can see, he is doing better on his tummy now that he isn't so
colic-y. We were waiting for the doctor to come in and Riley didn't know what was coming for him :( But he sat on my lap the whole visit and was such a good boy. He weighs 14 lbs 9 oz, and he is a little over 26 inches long. He is in the 50% for weight and 90% for height. My baby is tall and skinny, who would have thought! He must get it from Grandpa
Farwell, because that is the only family member who pops out in my mind as tall AND skinny
lol.

We met with a
Ped's resident that was learning the ropes, and then our Dr came in to check up after she was done. Ry has really bad dry skin, and he is so sensitive to EVERYTHING! He has
eczema on his ankles the worse, but his forehead and back of his shoulders are bad too. So if you moms out there didn't know, you can use 1% hydro-
cort cream until the red is gone and then lube them up with
moisturizers up to 4 times a day, and POOF its gone. I did it yesterday, and it is gone like magic. After the doctor said we had a happy healthy baby boy, he left and his nurse came back in with his shots :( First he gets the
ro-to drink, and then 3 shots in a row. She was FAST! I thought the nurse was fast last time, but this girl blew her out of the water. She was done before he could get his first cry out.

It makes me sad, but not sad enough to not snap a picture
lol. I scooped him up before she put the band-aids on, and he instantly stopped crying. I guess it's moms magic touch. She put his Snoopy band-aids on, and that was that! It was like he didn't even get shots! Our baby is so strong! Good news is our doctor said we can start with rice cereal, so I guess it's time for mom to go back to work a couple nights a week to start saving for vacations this year.

Anyways.. Daddy's favorite part is the big band-aids. This time it was the Hulk! How appropriate, we thought it was
necessary for today.
After getting dressed and going on our way to
Wal-Mart for cream and rice cereal, I thought he was going to fall apart because I wasn't holding him anymore, but he just fell asleep as soon as we were on the road
lol. You know, for being such a hard baby for almost 3 months, he sure is perfect for us now. If I had to go back and do it again, I would. I would rather have a hard baby who has such personality now, then an easy baby who is a bump on a log!

I so know what your going through. For some reason I do worse with the shots than my precious children do! Good job mommy and daddy! :)
It's so funny how similar Riley and Brea are. Later on, around six months, Brea broke out in eczema for no reason. We hadn't changed anything- food, lotion, soap- nothing. We can keep it under control now most of the time just with aquaphor, but we had to start out with triamcinolone- yuck. I'm glad to hear he's showing his fun personality and you're loving every minute of it!!!
