An Apple a Day

I know it seems like all I do is blog about my kid, but really, that's all that's going on in my life right now lol.

I'm huge into scrapbooking, so we decided to take his picture after each first taste of new food to document, and since Riley is 6 months and 1 week old, we have started him on fruits and veggies this last week. It's been pretty funny. I think this kid is going to eat just about everything I give him. His first new food was last week and we started with sweet potatoes, this was his reaction...
It was sort of 'Mom, what is this orange stuff you put in my mouth?', but after that, he LOVED it. He has had it everyday for about a week now, and he always finishes the whole bowl that I make for him.

The food we tried this week was going to be applesauce, but at the last second, I switched to peaches. This time it was a totally different experience.. of course fruits are going to be more sweet, but I think the peaches had a tangy zing to them, because the first scoop in his mouth..
Now, don't be fooled, after this bite he gobbled everything else up, once he got used to the new taste, but it was good for a laugh or two (or three).

So now I'm just trying to learn how to deal with the 'human' poops that are piggy-backing on this fun food experience. Right after I left for my Saturday shift at Ruby, I got a message from Trav that said, 'He just broke the record for the biggest poop ever', and it's true, I saw it in the garbage after I got home. Apparently it came out both legs, up his front, and up his back... glad I wasn't home lol.

Before we had kids, I always wondered if ours would pick up on the things we do and say the most.. like Bey for example. There is a certain way Linds talks to her, and so, it is now the way she talks to everyone else in everyday life. Like, 'TOO funny', 'TOO yummy', 'TOO cute', so for a while, everything to Bey was 'too __' something. Now, Riley's first (kind of) words were 'blah blah blah', which made me joke about how he was mimicking me on the phone all the time.. but this was going too far.. and this wasn't just an accident, I have about 5 pictures to prove that the second I handed him my phone, it now goes right to his face. I don't talk on my phone ALL the time.. geez, the kid is already a comedian
He kind of has tired eyes, so to me it looks like he is thinking, 'Come on Mom, the camera again? I have been working long hours, and this is an important call'.

Tomorrow I will be going out to dinner with some old friends from West Coast, so I promise I will blog about something other then my freaking cute kid!

I love trying new foods with Jonathan. He is 8.5 months old so we are finally going to try hiim on his first fruit today. It's been veggies only since seven months and the poop change is so disgusting! haha. I love all the pictures of your little guy.
we should scrapbook sometime.
